Why Richard Murphy Is Wrong to Say Gary Stevenson Is Wrong [ex3bMOZU91I]

In my follow-up to Richard Murphy vs Gary Stevenson, I revisited both videos and comments. They agree on much: both see class war, urge solidarity between higher earners and the working class, and want fairer wealth distribution. The key difference is government finances. Gary’s view, under current law, is that the UK can run out of money without borrowing or taxing. Richard, via Modern Monetary Theory, says a sovereign currency issuer can’t run out — only inflation and resources limit spending. Gary works within today’s rules; Richard wants reform. It’s partly semantics, but the framing shapes politics, austerity, and what’s possible.
